Ok, if I don't figure out something soon I'm going to call my PL line "Idunno" and call it a day! I know the easiest thing to do is use my own name, but I'm not loving that. The name of my business is SkinCare Solutions. I have never loved that name and will consider changing it when I move. I've actually gotten some phone calls from people looking for a business with a similar name, so I have to assume that they may get some of my calls which bothers me.
HOW do you come up with something you can live with long term? I'd love something that I can use on skin and body care products as well as possibly spa related products at some point (candles, tea etc)
Let me float this one by everyone: Skindigo (of course incorporating the color into the logo/marketing materials)
That would work for skin and body care, but maybe not so hot for related items.
One of my first thoughts was: Willow
I would really love something super simple...one word. If I can't come up with something soon my head might just explode. Everytime I think I may have thought of something I check the Trademark database and my hopes are dashed.
Help!

Michelle ~
instead of your own name, do you have children? Maybe combine their names or initials into something. That way it's not your name and it would mean something extra special to you. I did this for my private label name. I named it 'TaylorHope' and underneath that i have Advanced Skin Care. My children's names are Taylor and Hope. My son Taylor is 22 and my daughter Hope passed away 8 yrs ago on Dec. 9th, so this way i keep her memory going and get to see my kids names daily...it probably sounds silly, but it makes me feel good and actually when my clients found out what name i chose, they LOVED it and i swear, i think sometimes they feel more connected to me and the product!
Just a thought!
Good luck and let me know what you finally end up with!!

I like Skindigo! You could do a lot with the label, and I also like the shape of the letters, and sound of it.
Made-up hybrid names like that are more easily trademarked, and easier to get internet domains for.
I was in Ikea, wondering if their names are Swedish or not, and found this interesting article about how they name their different lines:

Great article, and if you got to the main site there you can see a list of branding names they've created. Take a look, might spark an idea!
I like Skindigo too. tagline, "skincare that fits". You know jeans...fit...
Is it cocktail hour yet?

I agree, Skindigo flows well.
Making it personal to you with a symbol, memory, or research in an area of interest to you is a good idea.
Research, like deciding on a baby name, can create brainstorming.
Maybe check market trends...for example asian themes and symbols are popular. Finding some obscure
one word wonder, or zen meaning behind something seems to be a trend too. Like the Japanese word
"kaizen" meaning continous improvement.
Check out other labels and names you like, and figure out what attracts you to them, along with what
feelings it invokes. You can always use one as inspiration.
Good luck!

Skindigo also almost sounds like "skin to go" which is cool.
DIG the Skindigo! It sounds hip, uncomplicated....
Good Luck!
